I received a KatKabin product in order to facilitate this review, all opinions are mine
My kitties have a lot of beds and scratchers around the house, there's a couple in my bedroom, one in the living room, my son even has a cat bed in his room. Zorro, our older cat likes to mainly sleep in the cat beds, he is not one for sleeping on the bed like Lilly and Spencer, and at night all three of the kitties sleep in their cat beds, they are not allowed on my bed at night. When I came across KatKabin's SkratchKabin I knew my cats would LOVE it!
Isn't it cute?
Before I begin my review let me tell you a little bit about KatKabin:
The KatKabin, is a fun yet practical shelter for your cats, and can be used indoors and outdoors. It was developed by designer Trevor Hudson in conjunction with advice from the Brinsea cats, Chas, Cleo and Astra. Many working owners worry about their cat when it is outside during the day, particularly if the weather is bad. Others would love a cat but can’t have one as they are unable to have a cat flap. The KatKabin helps solve some of these problems by creating a special space in a garden, patio or balcony where your cat can be safe and secure.
Since my cats are not outdoor cats, I decided to review the SkratchKabin. With the new kitten, Lilly we just adopted, she has been trying to scratch my carpet so I knew she was going to love the SkratchKabin. The SkratchKabin, provides your cat with a warm, cozy place to sleep, together with a curved, textured scratching surface. This innovative cat bed and scratcher, design gives your cat the chance to relax and exercise his natural instincts to scratch - while helping to ensure your sofas and soft furnishings are saved from claw damage.
As you can tell all three of the cats like the SkratchKabin, I like it too, not only is it decorative, the cats actually use it unlike some of the other beds and scratchers I have bought in the past. The only drawback is that I feel like this would not practical for a larger cat, my orange kitty, Spencer is about 13 pounds and he has a hard time getting in and out of it, he likes it but, does not spend a lot of time in it like Zorro and Lilly.
The carpet that is on the SkratchKabin has held up extremely well, we have had it for about three weeks now and the cats scratch on it on a daily basis and it has not yet pulled away from the base nor has it started to rip.
The KatKushion that is inside is machine washable, which is nice since Zorro has already coughed up a hairball in it :)
I am extremely pleased with the KatKabin we received. I have a feeling when the weather starts to get cooler, I will see them use it more than they do now. I only need two more so they don't have to take turns or fight over who gets to use it.
