*I received a gift card in order to facilitate this review, all opinions are mine*
My family and I recently had the chance to try out Moe's Southwest Grill, yes, I admit, we have never been to Moe's before. We have them everywhere here in South Carolina, but for some reason we had never stopped in to give them a try. Boy, have we been missing out!
Before I begin my review, let me tell you a little about Moe's and how they got started.
Founded in December 2000 in Atlanta, Ga., Moe's Southwest Grill is a fun and engaging fast-casual restaurant franchise serving a wide variety of fresh, made-to-order southwest fare. The first thing you'll hear when you walk into the restaurant is an enthusiastic "Welcome to Moe's!" Moe's is best known for its burritos packed with a choice of over 20 fresh, flavorful ingredients, the menu also features kid's, vegetarian and low-calorie options. And all meals are served with free chips and salsa.
Since we were going to Atlanta, I decided to save our gift card Moe's sent us, and have a meal out while we were there. I mean, Moe's DID originate in the good ole' ATL! After the visit to the Fernbank Museum, We decided to visit the Moe's right down the road from it, which was on Ponce De Leon Ave.
As expected and as soon as we walked in, we heard the staff members give us a friendly "Welcome To Moe's" greeting. The staff was very friendly and willing to help since we had never dined at Moe's before. After looking at the menu and deciding what to have my husband and I both tried the Joey Bag of Donuts with steak. In case you aren't familiar, The Joey Bag of Donuts burrito is served with choice of protein in a flour or whole grain tortilla with seasoned rice, beans, shredded cheese and pico de gallo
My husband and I both ordered the same exact thing, except mine had mushrooms and his didn't. Moe's has over 20 ingredients that are free, that can be added to your burrito. We both really liked our lunch. The steak was good and tender, and seasoned really well. The chips and salsa are a nice addition to the meal. The only thing we didn't like was the salsa, it seemed to be a little watery and runny, like it had been sitting out and settled. But everything else was delicious!
My kiddos even like Moe's.
My oldest son is really particular about what he eats, but he decided on The Power Wagon which is a kid-sized hard or soft taco with choice of all-natural chicken breast or ground beef, shredded cheese and lettuce. As you can see he is chowing down on the taco. He said it was good, and he ate every single bite!
All around we loved Moe's, the burritos were fresh, and the ingredients were really good. My son loved his taco. My only complaint was about the salsa, but that will not deter us away from eating there again.
Before heading to Moe's make sure you subscribe to their E-World. This will keep you up to date on new products, contests, and you just might get some special prizes in your email like coupons! Yay! You can connect with Moe's on Facebook & Twitter!
Huge thanks to Moe's Southwest Grill for letting my family and I do a review!
