Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler Review & #Giveaway! 5/3

In an effort to become more eco-friendly, I have recently started recycling. Well I can't really say recently. I have been doing it for about a year or so. Since we take our garbage down to one big dumpster in our neighborhood, we don't have a place to take recyclables to. However, my son's school does! Yes, that is right I take our recyclables to my son's school. Milk jugs, juice boxes and bags, cola cans, plastic grocery bags (however I don't get to many of these since I use my own bags), plastic cola bottles etc. Typically milk jugs are taken to art class so they can do projects and cola cans they have a can outside and they trade the cans in to get money for the school!

Since I've started to recycle my biggest challenge is trying to find a place to put everything until I make my bi-monthly trip to drop everything off at my son's school. Which by the way...the teachers and the school really appreciate everything.  I used to put everything in a big cardboard box in our carport until I was ready to haul it off but that really didn't work because when it would rain it would get everything wet. So I then started putting everything in garbage bags. That didn't work either because it used way to many trash bags. Then...Rubbermaid contacted me about their great new product called the Hidden Recycler! Yay!

Doesn't it look spiffy? I think so too! 

So here are some great features about this product:

• Easy attachment to cabinet doors with hooks that are included
• A convenient handle that makes it easy to transport 
• A 5 gallon bag that can hold 32 cans and a milk jug!
• The bag has a leak proof liner and is machine washable!
• Soft Sided bag which is flexible so that it can fit inside cabinet doors!
• The bag and all its packaging is made from recyclable materials, and the product is recyclable!

So even though the product doesn't look that big it really is. I mean it isn't huge but it's just the perfect size to fit inside my cabinet.  I tested it out and used 3 old Sunday papers, 2 milk jugs (empty of course) and several cola cans and there was still room left! The bag is really durable to. My "load" got really heavy, I would say 6 or 7 pounds and the bag did not once give out nor did the handle break. 

So another thing I noticed was how easy it is to clean the bag. My 2 year old threw a juice box in the bag and it leaked everywhere. I just simply took a damp cloth and wiped it clean!

Another great place you could use the Hidden Recycler is hanging on a door or hanging up in a garage!

Overall I really like The Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler. It makes it much easier to store everything until I am ready to take my recyclables off to my son's school. It's durable, eco-friendly, and a great resolution to my recycling organization :)
